Played about 2 hours of SPM last night, and I am a little put off with the controls so far. FTR, I'm a huge fan of Paper Mario for GCN, and had trouble putting it down until it was completed. The 3D environment, while a novel idea, tends to become quite an annoyance. Frequently flipping back and forth to be sure you haven't missed anything seems to draw me out of the story and have me more concerned with over-exploring all the areas. Also, moving within the 3D environment is a little clunky, as aiming your jumps can be a little frustrating (even in the 2D world it's a little sketchy). As I progress through the game, I hope that the controls become more second-nature so I'm able to enjoy the game and not worry about missing jumps and items. This is one of the more anticipated Wii titles for me, so I'm going to try my best to flat out love it, though it's off to a rocky start.
